Schoodic Peninsula

Schoodic Peninsula is the only part of Acadia National Park located on the mainland. It offers dark granite headlands and a much quieter experience than Mount Desert Island.

Most of the 4 million annual visitors stay on the main island. Driving to the Schoodic Peninsula provides space away from severe parking congestion. Expect heavy surf crashing against rocky shorelines and peaceful scenic drives.

You still need an entrance pass here. A standard private vehicle pass costs $35 for 7 days. As of 2026, non-U.S. residents aged 16 and older pay a $100 surcharge.
